Cameo is a service where anyone can pay a celebrity to record video with the desired content. Halborn recently used the platform to promote Bitcoin. It paid nine stars, even Hollywood celebrities, to pay for flattering words about BTC and wishes for the twelfth anniversary of the Bitcoin Whitepaper.
Whitepiper Bitcoin is a nine-page document in which Satoshi Nakamoto, the developer of the crypt currency, outlined the main features of his project. The file was published on 31 October 2008, which means that exactly twelve years have passed since then. It was this event that the company’s campaign was timed to coincide with.
The topics of trust in third parties, confidentiality of network members, motivation for miners and much more were discussed in the whitepaper itself. Our material will allow us to get acquainted with the key components of the most important document – and in an understandable and accessible form.
Celebrities and cryptov currencies
A compilation of celebrity greetings was published on the official Halborn YouTube channel. This is the video where celebrities share good words about the first crypt currency.
You can also find videos of the congratulations of individual stars on the channel. For example, here is a video with Charlie Sheen, a famous Hollywood actor.
Charlie praised Satoshi Nakamoto and expressed his admiration for the opportunity to invest in BTC – as soon as he finds a job, of course. He admitted that he has a poor understanding of cryptography, reports Cointelegraph.
In addition to Charlie, the congratulatory list includes other famous actors, musicians and comedians including David Hasselhof, Carol Baskin, Charlamagne Tha God, Gilbert Gottfried, Doug Benson, Hassan Johnson, Soulja Boy and RZA.
Most celebrities read the talking points for discussion and demonstrated different levels of literacy in the cryptographic world. For example, Charlamagne Tha God asked if the images he found on Google really showed the creator of Bitcoin on a request from Satoshi Nakamoto.
Naturally, this is not true, and the images on Satoshi’s request show the real programmer Dorian Nakamoto. The real creator of the first cryptographic currency is anonymous, and his identity is unknown to anyone. Moreover, according to representatives of the Blockchain community, it is not worth looking for the real author of the coin, as in this case risks may arise for BTC. You can read more about this point of view in a separate material.
Here is another interesting comment from David Hasselhof, who is remembered for his humorous component.
I would like to tell the world that Bitcoin was not invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin started with „The Hoff“. I, David Hasselhoff, invented Bitcoin, and I am going to keep a secret of what I know about Bitcoin.
In this way David was just kidding. The community was enthusiastic about the sharpness – yet the possible connection between a cryptologist and some celebrity sounds both fun and flattering.
We believe that this event can be considered historic. And although celebrities obviously don’t know much about blockchecks and cryptovalues, this kind of congratulation looks really funny. Obviously, the news will not reach the profile publications, which do not usually connect with the topic of Bitcoin. This means that the video has enough potential to attract new people to the industry.
It should be noted that there are enough reasons to connect with the first cryptographic currency without such videos. The fact is that BTC is growing at an excellent pace – also against the backdrop of the tense situation in connection with the presidential election in the United States. In the last two weeks, Bitcoin’s rate increased by 20%, and in the last month – by 26%. It is not easy to find this kind of yield in ordinary areas of the economy, so people clearly rush to read about the crypt currency.
For the sake of clarity, here is the BTC chart for the last month. By the way, the last month was not easy for the industry, but Bitcoin managed to survive it and grow seriously.
